David Sower

DIRECTOR OF TAX

With nearly 40 years of experience in tax and accounting, David Sower, CPA, serves as the Director of Tax at Pivotal Finance, where he provides strategic oversight of the firm’s tax function. He specializes in corporate and business tax compliance, planning and transactions, offering  guidance to clients navigating complex tax regulations and transactional tax  structuring.

David’s career includes 12 years in Big 4 public accounting, where he developed a foundation in corporate taxation and client service. Following his time in public accounting, he spent 22 years in leadership roles including Tax Director and Vice President of Tax for large corporations, where he directed all aspect of tax compliance and tax planning, while acting as tax advisor to management in shaping tax policies, managing corporate tax risk and structuring transactions. His ability to bridge the gap between technical tax knowledge and practical business application makes him a trusted advisor for  clients in managing their specific tax needs.

When not in the office, David enjoys spending time with family, travel, cycling and backpacking in the mountains of the western U.S.
