Brad Birdwell

MANAGING PARTNER

As a founding partner of Pivotal Finance, Brad Birdwell, CPA, leads the firm’s management, key client relationships and business development efforts. Brad utilizes his experience spanning public accounting, publicly-traded companies and entrepreneurial ventures to help business owners navigate complex financial landscapes and achieve sustainable growth.  Brad’s specialties include Fractional CFO, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Startup services, and he primarily focuses on the firm’s veterinary and dental clients.

Brad began his career in 1993 with Ernst & Young before transitioning to Deloitte as a Tax Manager. He later held executive finance roles, including:

• VP of Finance and Treasurer – ITC^DeltaCom
• VP of Corporate Finance – Chiquita Brands International
• CFO – Xiocom Wireless 
• Founder and Managing Partner – Third Law Sourcing (sold in 2015)

His entrepreneurial acumen is evident in his role as founder of multiple companies, including Third Law Sourcing, which earned a spot on the Inc. 500 list (#351) in 2011. That same year, Business to Business Magazine recognized him as one of Atlanta’s top 25 entrepreneurs (#4).

Brad’s professional philosophy is simple but effective: “Make the jobs of everyone around me as easy as possible.” He is passionate about helping clients define and achieve success while solving complex financial challenges.

Outside of work, Brad is an avid sports enthusiast and recreational poker player. A fun fact—he traveled the world racing BMX as a kid!
